Mtl-Halal is a grassroots initiative with the objective to disseminate information to the Greater Montreal community which will empower them to make sound halal supply and consumption choices.

We are a group of local scholars and individuals concerned about the situation of the halal market, wherein what is stated as halal may not necessarily be halal in light of the sacred Islamic Laws.

• Educate the Greater Montreal population about halal consumption.
• Educate the Greater Montreal consumers about the issues with halal certification and halal declaration.
• Stimulate consumer demand for authentic halal food, as established by the sacred Islamic laws
• Stimulate businesses to adopt authentic halal food and products standards
• Stimulate demand for halal certification bodies that adhere to unanimously accepted principals along with a stringent follow up
